Anna Bissell McCay, daughter of vacuum magnate Melville Bissell, was one of Pasadena’s most beloved philanthropists. Having moved from Michigan, she resided in the Victorian estate that is known today as Bissell House. She was there from 1902 until the mid-1950s, at which time her granddaughters inherited the Estate. Her home was often the gathering location for her extended Bissell family from Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The home has been loved by many families since. Step back in time to see an 1887 mansion where Albert Einstein once visited. Originally built in 1887, the Bissell House is located at the southern west anchor of Pasadena’s historically famous “Millionaire’s Row” in what was the Orange Grove Mansion District.
This estate is pristine and packed with so much history. There are so many treasures for everyone!
